Sloooow Progress...

This was the progress of the day before, doesn't look like much, but it really was progress.  Digging out the muck by hand and packing in the drainage rock, a lot of hard work:
Rain yesterday caused the project to come to a halt.  Today should bring more progress.

Yes, No, Maybe So...

The digging about completed:
Then part of the wall collapsed, will the project continue?  Not too positive on the outlook:
Covering the hole in case of rain so the drying out can continue:
A pump in the middle to pump out the water in case it rained:
We shall see what happens today......

Dump Truck Train

I left off yesterday morning talking about seven dump trucks of dirt.  Well, by the end of the day, there were 25 dump trucks of dirt total.  All day the sound of the beep, beep, beep of dump trucks and the tractors...thought I would go insane!  This is the end result of 25 dump trucks of dirt, doesn't look like much.  View of the mound of dirt from the back side, it is actually over 5 ft tall:

25 trucks of dirt were compacted down with this mondo machine:
Can you figure out what this project is?

Summer into Fall

As the summer project was being planned, the planning continued to mount into a major project which now said project is now turning into a fall project.  The removal of the existing landscaping did get done and we have been staring at a messy yard for  the past week or so.  Not too exciting, to say the least.  But many appts and calls and deciding on this and that has occurred just to get this thing going.

Now today, the yard should show some signs of movement...I'm hoping.  The grading of the yard is to occur so the yard should look way different after today.  I know, the anticipation is killing me too!!

Walk the Talk

I am one for all things techie, tho I everything I do that has to do with technology is by hit and miss and determination.  I have this blog, I am on Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin.  I post daily, sometimes hourly on Twitter and Facebook.  When I read some of the other updates, the ones that catch my eye are the ones about helping people in America first.  Those that know me know I support my adoption agency, which happens to be international.

What I wonder is, the people that post about helping people in America first, do they really walk the talk and help those in need in America?  Are they volunteering at a homeless shelter?  Are they donating to the Goodwill?  Are they giving of their time and/or money like they seem to be posting?

I am not saying I am better than anyone else, as I do help those locally via Goodwill and thru my church.  I also help children and families in need internationally so is that wrong?  Can I help those in need internationally without feeling guilty?  Yes I can because I care about everyone and it is my time and money.  I'm not putting others down for what they do or don't do.  I'm not being defensive either. I'm just wondering if people who post these types of updates truly walk the talk.
